Inspiration and Insights
On 26–27 November, European leaders in digital innovation gathered at the EDIH Network Summit 2024, held at The EGG in Brussels. The event served as a hub for knowledge exchange and collaboration, focusing on advancing digital transformation and innovation within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and strengthening the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH).
Jan-Olof Ehk and Elisabet Ström from Aero EDIH attended the second edition of this pivotal conference, where policymakers, technology experts, and representatives from national authorities and thematic working groups came together to share experiences and discuss opportunities for the future.

Digital Innovation in Focus
The conference covered key topics such as challenges in AI, cybersecurity, digital health, smart connectivity, agrifood, and the construction sector. Panel discussions and workshops highlighted best practices for implementing digital solutions and fostering collaboration between regions across Europe. In addition, discussions delved into funding opportunities and the development of digital skills—critical areas to support Europe’s economic transition towards a more digital future.
A major objective of the event was to connect key stakeholders and establish new partnerships to drive innovation forward. Aero EDIH had the opportunity to network with representatives from across Europe, resulting in fresh ideas and new opportunities to further advance digital innovation.

Strengthened Collaborations and New Opportunities
One of the highlights of the event was the extensive networking opportunities, where participants could exchange experiences, share ideas, and identify potential collaboration partners. Jan-Olof Ehk and Elisabet Ström concluded two inspiring days with fresh insights and motivation, which will now contribute to Aero EDIH’s ongoing work.
What’s next? Building on new connections and scheduling meetings to explore future partnerships. EDIH Network Summit has provided valuable knowledge and perspectives to enhance digital innovation across Europe.
