Summary of a Successful Event on Cybersecurity in the World of Drones

Aero EDIH together with Cyberly and Aerospace Cluster Sweden held a hybrid event focusing on Cybersecurity in the World of Drones. Catarina Lindholm, Program Manager for the Air Mobility Project, initiated the morning session by presenting Cybersecurity in the context of safe drone operations from the perspective of the Air Mobility Project for instance by utilizing GNSS spoofing and utilization of secure communications protocols.

Rasmus Lundquist, Researcher from Research Institutes of Swedens Drone Lab & the Aero EDIH project, presented the drone landscape as a whole, U-space and counter UAS systems.

Tord Strømdal, Cybersecurity Expert, explained Drone Cybersecurity with basis from the CIA, Confindentiality, Integrity, Availibility model perspective. Tord also related different attack vectors in the probability consequence matrix (Risk Matrix) and also discussed capabilities of a different attack actors. Tord also emphasized that all digital devices around us are potentially targets for cyber-attacks as many devices today can be described as information gathering sensors that could be utilized for malicious purposes by for instance state actors.

The session ended with an enlightened debate regarding Counter UAS and Standards.

The day was a great success, and we thank everyone who participated!
