Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA)
Within the framework of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), the Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) is used to measure and assess an organisation’s digital maturity. The tool helps organisations identify their strengths, weaknesses, and prioritise areas for development. A DMA is therefore carried out for organisation receiving support from Aero EDIH.
DMA is based on six dimensions:
- Digital Business Strategy
- Digital Readiness
- Human-Centric Digitalisation
- Data Management
- Automation & Artificial Intelligence
- Green Digitalisation
The DMA percentage is calculated by assigning scores to the answers for each question, which are then summed and weighted across the six dimensions. The total maturity percentage is an average of the weighted scores, expressed as a percentage and benchmarked against industry standards.
The results are presented in a report that visualises the organisation’s current state and progress, enabling them to continuously monitor their digital transformation journey. The tool is also part of the EU’s broader strategy to enhance competitiveness and build a sustainable digital economy across Europe.
The assessment is conducted in three phases:
- Phase 0: Conducted just before EDIH’s intervention, to establish the organisation’s initial level of digital maturity.
- Phase 1: One year after Phase 0, to evaluate progress and improvements following EDIH’s support.
- Phase 2: Two years after Phase 0, to measure the long-term effects of EDIH’s interventions and the organisation’s digital development.
